Infographics

In last couple of years I have been put in to position where I have use info graphics as a outcome of my work. In these years I have collected a numbers of images, styles, techniques more even sources which

helped me to make a right decision. Obviously there are many sources which increasable grow day by day. Info graphics become a answer for so many problems and expressions. Those which I would like to show today are some how connected to me or my work. Before we start let’s divide these info graphics in two groups where one will be static info graphics which refer actuality or analysis, and those that are generated dynamically – on going in real time application. First static reference can be GOOD.is

GOOD.is

Microsoft sponsored technology drive web site which time to time present  info graphics in separate section. These graphics offer many styles from many different areas such a politics, economy, travel, voting, and also food and live stile. Definitely is worthy to check this out. Important here is the fact if there is some problem in the sphere soon or later GOOD is one who react with big poster explaining what happen and why this happen. Conclusion is leave to the observer.

Visual Complexity

Another source of mine will be Manuel’s project which finally taking to the place of introducing book  – visual complexity which collect over than 700 examples of interactive info-graphics. Manuel is one of the designers I have had a chance to work with, and simply said – “anyone should have this experience”. Encouraging, supportive, innovative and most friendliest designer fellow from R/GA team. In one of our many discussion we talk about designing information which you don’t know. For example simple growing database of your tweets. In about three months we seen this “twitter friends network browser” and many other documented at Flowing Data.

Let’s stay for a while in twitter and other simple services – and imagine the power which you can bring in to a voting system, transparency of the tax payment, legacy and even health. Another example was published by Cliff Kuang (reporter of Fast Company) about visualizing twitter conversation in real time.

Simple Complexity

Promote them self with quote “Welcome to Simple Complexity, a blog designed to make simple sense from complex data. We will focus on methods and techniques to improve your ability to organize, visualize, analyze, and act upon complex data.” true is that most of their stuff is from this source – datavisualization.

Data Visualization

Is a solid Interaction source run by Benjamin, Christian, Jeremy and Peter who more less run company – interactive things. I found this source through TED which is kind of strange but even so I’m impressed with quality of the posts and all research they put in to a real world – datavisualization

Cool Info graphics

is run by Randy Krum who is president of some company but more interesting than his title is how much stuff he collect.  Most of his stuff is original source and it was always great inspiration. – coolinfographics.

Flickr

We shouldn’t forget Flicker and Deviant art gallery. I’m sure there is so much stuff and it’s definitely worth to search through “one time” but for now let me present – density design. Pretty smart Flickr group where you can find a lot of good not even great resources for almost any possible client requirements.
