WOTW – 45

This year Beijin hosted Graphics Design Conference IDA Icograda. I many design magazines we saw a lots of advert – so I was a bit curious how does it look like the best website for most prominent Design conference of the 2009 year.

Jeijing 2009 – is well formated and grid based presentation with really simple layout which break apart each news which belongs to each presented section.landing page was separated in to a news paper layout which remind me a “Rude Pravo” from 1985 even colour of the background was choose quite unique.

Definitely great part of the website was synchronize information between English version and Chinese (Cantonese – Sorry guys i can not find any difference so if I’m wrong please correct me) language. So typographically the presentation was well formed.

Presentation

most common use of thumbnail view not just in 2009 but almost last 5 years win. Thumbnail view is really easy to navigate, search and observe and even you don’t know the Chinese equivalent – with confident you choose Lecture you want.

Partners

Separate page for partners included 360 and +design and also Communication arts – simple layout with ope envelope.

Artworks

Again thumbnail view was used across whole website heavily so you might get impression that website is build by copying one page over and over – maybe. Even so consistency and spacing gave this presentation room to brief and well present core of the Conference
