WOTW – 21

The website I’m going to talk about this week is not fancy, technology driven, super animated or even famous. The website is pretty basic without any special effects apart from one. The one which shouldn’t be forgotten – and which is grid. Aisleone is based on same wp template as is this Laboratory blog website.

A the other hand this website is part of the community buddycarrskateboards, thinking for a living, thegridsystem and enotmik. Their approach is in many cases similar  to mine apart from the community.

The grid system is seen across whole website and artwork they present.  Also designed Amazon store aisleone-20. Following section is intended to the wallpaper section where you can download their artwork.

I following screen you can see clean structure and composition efficiently communicate with the user in purpose where they were chosen. First part is two latest posts, than you have a nine blocks of related, supported websites including registration to RSS and News Letter. Third part of this website is related links and comments which are visually separated from rest of the content.

Last part is basically hidden behind main navigation. This kind of practice I’ve used in the past but after while I removed it. Tracking user activities on this web page wasn’t so high rated as well as this part seen just 6% of all visitors which is not too much.
