WOTW – 19
Nokia is in many cases inspired company and definitely one of the company where I would like to work if I have a chance. But before this happen let’s have a look what I have explore this week on WOTW review. Ovi and Nokia present a couple of sub-websites which i have bee curious but never really have a time to find out what do they present.

Landing screen
Nokia website landing screen allow us to choose and register to different content which we using on our mobile devices. Our diary, Calendar, Contact, Maps, Shops, Mails etc. I’m not entirely sure it this is the really functional page but it serve the purpose. Page with widgets i my opinion should be more specify to end user and not duplication main behaviour – which is “without registration you can not get any where“. Which means 70% of these links doing to same page? Why would you do that?
Music section
Music section itself is better in option to choose the country and player and store eve song on first page a lot’s of going on on this page. That’s just remind Steve Kruge and his paragraph about “What is the main purpose of this page – why am I here – what you want me to do” and honestly I’m slightly confused.
how about you?

Application Store
Seems to learn some usability from their competitors as is Black Berry as well as iTunes. It’s not really outstanding solution but eve so it’s work. And again why would i present phones on app store – 50% of top banner is absolutely wasted – don’t you think so?

Map
To be honest map on Nokia OVI is an outstanding and remarkable tool which pretty easily can concur Google or Microsoft solution. Really nice rendering, brilliant navigation and more over loading time is incredible fast. Finally on the end is connection with Nokia activities – which is obvious …

.. real surprise
Final piece of Nokia’s websites is presentation of Rina’s live concert which is branded by Nokia as an main sponsor. This sub section is nice clean and well organized. Really nice connection between Nokia brand guideline and Rina’s self presentation – In this case I would prefer more Rina’s styling than Nokia’s. Rina in this case is selling point not Nokia – Nokia it’s just broker.

nice travel with Nokia
